Headteacher’s Welcome

On behalf of Hamstead Hall Academy I warmly welcome you to the school. I hope you find our website informative and easy to navigate. It is designed to give you a snapshot and flavour of the life of our school, what it is like to be a pupil here and the quality of education we strive to deliver every day. We take great pride in our longstanding reputation for being a ‘good’ school, sitting at the heart of the local community for the last 50 years.

I joined the Hamstead Hall family in 2006 and have devoted the last 17 years to this wonderful school. I am extremely privileged and honoured to serve such an amazing school as the headteacher, working alongside incredible colleagues who strive every day to give all of our students the best life chances. We take our responsibility in educating our young people extremely seriously.

Our mission is to achieve ‘Success for all through Hard work and Harmony’. This statement drives every action, informs every decision and shapes every interaction. Our ethos is built around five core values which are Pride, Persistence, Patience, Progress and Preparation.  These expectations reflect and underpin a Hamstead Hall learner.

Every person matters at Hamstead Hall. We are vibrant, diverse and inclusive. We are committed to providing a safe and happy school which nurtures stability, aspiration and inspiration.

We have a relentless focus on the highest standards of academic achievement, personal development and equality of opportunity. We have extremely high expectations of student behaviour and we expect our students to be present, committed, kind and respectful to each other.

Our curriculum is ambitious, rich and balanced. Teaching is progressive and pioneering. Learning is fun and exciting. We refuse to stand still and students have endless opportunities to fulfil their potential and excel at Hamstead Hall. Whilst academic excellence and rigour is a priority, we firmly believe in a holistic approach and place great emphasis on the wider curriculum offer. Enrichment is embedded and contributes to the fabric of academy life, unlocking talent, instilling resilience, imparting wisdom and developing the confidence of our young people. It is wonderful to see so many occasions where our children flourish and thrive during their time at school. We want our young people to remember and talk positively about their special educational journey at Hamstead Hall Academy for the rest of their lives.

We are immensely proud of our students. It is heart-warming when our wonderful alumnae come back as relatable role models, share their successes and all the notable differences they are making in the world and society on a national and global stage. They remember where the journey started, the investment, the care and support.

Visitors frequently remark upon our distinctive and respectful identity. There is a strong sense of belonging at Hamstead Hall. Should you wish to visit, our students will show you around. It is the best way to share how wonderful we are and they truly are our very best ambassadors.
