Inclusion Home
The inclusion team has been a vital part of the Hamstead Hall Trust for many years. We work between both of the Hamstead Hall Trust academies (Grestone Academy and Hamstead Hall Academy) to provide assistance and support. Due to our department having such a diverse skill set, we have the holistic ability to mentor pupils, construct mediations, cover and assist in lessons, manage interventions, sports coaching, provide first aid and lead in our forest school style activities. These pivotal capabilities have proven to be vital to the academies term time and non-term time success.
Our department’s primary focus is to support the academies’ by bridging the gap between staff and pupils. This is achieved by launching extra-curricular programmes such as youth clubs, after-school sports activities and coaching team-building sessions. In under 2 years, we have developed into being part of the wider behaviour management team’s ethos to challenge low level disruptions. Due to our professional pupil rapport, our understanding has proven to support early identification of potential barriers to success.
In addition to our term-time role, our playscheme provides holistic support and activities for
- Vulnerable young people
- Young people considered to have special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
- Young people who are keen to have an enjoyable but safe place to explore
While delivering the above, we have successfully introduced a youth development programme for our current pupils. For more information on these activities, please visit our holiday club or youth club page.
Through our valued rapport with community leaders, we offer our pupils the opportunity to become one of our Young People’s Parliament (YPP) representatives. This provides our participants with the opportunity to engage in discussions with leaders of influence, build on their personal characteristics and engage in discussions with our local MP. In addition of this, to support the development of our pupil’s employability skills, we offer volunteering opportunities for keen participants at our school holiday clubs.
